It’s a matter of great pride for me to welcome you to the website of Shri Shivaji Arts &Commerce College, Amravati established by Shri. Shivaji Education Society, one of the biggest Education Society in the central India. We are overwhelmed with a sense of joy and pride as we are celebrating the Platinum Jubilee year of the establishment of our college

The college is one of the oldest and leading college in the region which provides higher education in the field of Social Science, Humanities, Commerce and Management and Mass Communication. It runs 16 UG Programs, 11 PG program and Research Centres in 09 subjects. The college has “Research Centres” in nine subjects namely Economics, Political Science,History, Home Economics, Marathi, English, Commerce & Management, Sociology, Library &Information Science. 31 teachers are registered as Ph. D. supervisors in the Research Centre for various subjects. 105 research scholars are registered for Ph.D. in the college. It also runs B.Voc. Program in Journalism and Media Management and Videography under the UGC skill development program. The college has strengthened the research facilities in Knowledge Resource Centre by accessing N-LIST consortia of INFLIBNET and National Digital Library of India.The Competitive Examination Cell of the college conducts various activities for grooming the students for various competitive exams.

Further, the college has a Centre for Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) for providing access to ‘Higher Education’ to those who cannot pursue education in regular mode..

The primary focus of the college is on the excellence in academic as well as the core mission activities including conscious efforts to promote values and ethics, secular approach, inclusiveness of all diversities, extension and outreach activities etc. the college focuses on providing multiple quality learning experiences to the students empowering students. The college regularly conducts remarkable extension activities through various departments and support services such as NSS, NCC, and Study centers. The extension activities including health awareness, environmental awareness, and various social issues are carried out in the neighborhood to inculcate awareness and responsibilities among the students regarding the common social issues. We feel proud of our students for the exceptional social service they rendered during the Corona pandemic period. Our students’ active participation and brilliant performances in Youth Festival, Annual Social Gathering, Students’ Parliament, various cultural competitions and examinations bring laurels for the college. The legacy of meritorious performance of our students in the University examinations is a distinctive feature of our college.The year 2022-23 has been spectacular in this regard as all the ten merits in M.A Political Science belong to our college. The Sports Department has been reaching new heights as the time goes by. The Department has bestowed State & National Level Honors upon the institute and at the same time produced players, coaches & administrators of State & National repute. The majority of the alumni is spread across the country and have earned a reputation in their chosen fields.

An impressive college building surrounded by greenery and beautifully landscaped campus, well equipped infrastructure and the rich library makes the institution ideally conducive to higher learning. The devotion and dedication of the highly qualified teaching faculty together with the non-teaching employees contribute to enhancing the glory of the college.

I feel proud of being the Principal of such a prestigious institution with a repute of being the first college established by Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati.
